The new Formula™ leads the mobile computing industry with an ergonomic form factor and rugged environmental specification. Designed primarily for retail applications, the Formula™ can be leveraged in any business to capture and communicate basic inventory or asset information. Based on the Memor™’s physical design (but without the CE OS), the Formula™ improves associate efficiency through its ergonomic form factor. A compact light weight device at 206 g (7.3 oz) including standard battery, the Formula™ comfortably rides in a pocket. The device shape provides convenient single-handed operation with easy access to all keyboard functions. The new Formula™ provides an industrial product tested for long term use and reliability. The terminal survives repeated drops (1.2m/4ft) to concrete. IP54 sealing resists damage due to exposure in wet or dusty environments. The Formula™ operating temperature range encompasses 0 to 50 °C (32 to 122 °F). A laser barcode scanner makes the Formula™ a fast and reliable data capture device. Industrial connectors allow integration with the most used transmission data standards, USB and Serial (RS232). A Bluetooth® interface provides an additional option for wireless data transmission. The Formula™ comes together with a CD containing the software tools for developing applications and exchanging data with a host. The CD also provides basic software Ready To use applications (Code Quantity, Inventory, Picking) to get the Formula™ up and running without any development effort.
